All our divisions follow long term athlete criteria.

Our Divisions

Coed Blast T-ball – LTP Level 1 – Thursdays

Pitching Distance: 25ft                      Bases Distance: 35ft                          Home Run Line: 10ft*

The Coed Blast T-ball Division consists of boys and girls born in 2015. Blast T-ball is a skill developing age group in which players learn to play softball through a variety of drills, exercises, and modified games. The games are played using batting tees (as opposed to pitchers), noise making bases, coaches throughout the field, and a “gym ball” or a cushioned softball in order to maximize fun.

Coed T-3 Pitch – LTP Level 1- Mondays

Pitching Distance: 25ft                      Bases Distance: 35ft                          Home Run Line: 10ft*

The Coed T-3 Pitch Division consists of boys and girls born in 2014. T-3 Pitch brings in more of the traditional elements of softball. The noisy bases and tee have been put away and replaced by a coach who pitches. Worried your son or daughter may struggle to hit the ball? No problem, in this fun game the player gets three opportunities to hit a pitch thrown by his/her own coach. If they do not succeed, they still get an opportunity to hit off the tee! Coaches are still in the field to help build necessary defensive skills.

*A homerun line is drawn 10 feet behind second base. The “Home Run Line” (HRL) effectively eliminates the outfield. Teams will operate with only 6 players on the field instead of 9. The positions available to play are Pitcher, Catcher, 1st base, 2nd Base, 3rd Base and Short Stop. This means that there will be no players stuck standing in the outfield with nothing to do. This will also allow teams to be formed with fewer players. Teams can be made up with 9 to 10 players rather than 12. This will maximize skill development and playing time.

Coed Coach Pitch – LTP Level 2 – Tuesdays

Pitching Distance: 28ft                      Bases Distance: 40ft

The Coed Coach Pitch Division consists of boys and girls born in 2013. This age group once again challenges the player slightly more than the last, while still maintaining a fun team and skill building environment. In Coach Pitch, the players will once again have an opportunity to hit up to 5 pitches thrown to him/her by his/her own coach. This time, however, if the player fails in five opportunities to hit the ball they will be called out! Two defensive coaches per team are still allowed to help emphasize defensive play!

Coed 5 Pitch – LTP Level 3 – Wednesdays

Pitching Distance: 28ft                      Bases Distance: 40ft

The Coed 5 Pitch Division consists of boys and girls born in 2012. This age group is the final age group in which defensive coaches can be positioned throughout the field to assist players with skill development during games. In 5 pitch the coaches take another step back as well, as it is now up to the players themselves to pitch to their own team. As well as providing all players an opportunity to hit, this encourages pitchers to practice throwing strikes before worrying about speed, a necessary step in skill development

Mite Boys – Thursdays /Girls – Tuesdays

Pitching Distance: 30ft                      Bases Distance: 45ft

Mite is the first age group at which boys and girls begin playing separately. Open to those born in 2010-2011, the Mite Division is the first in which the teams begin pitching to the opposition as opposed to their own players. The change from 5 Pitch to Mite is the biggest experienced by players as it is the first year in which the game is played fully against the opposing team. Players may slide and steal(not home). There is a 5 run mercy rule per inning. Beyond Mite the biggest difference from division to division is the pitching and base distances. A select program is available at this age group as well as many skill development clinics offered.

Squirt Boys – Mondays /Girls – Wednesdays

Pitching Distance: 35ft                      Bases Distance: 55ft

The Squirt Division is open to boys and girls, who again play separately, born in 2008-2009. The players see very little change from Mite to Squirt in terms of actual game play. The major difference between the divisions is the bases and pitching rubber is situated further apart than years previous. Squirts aged players may slide and steal and infield fly rule is in effect. There is a 5 run mercy rule per inning. At the Squirt age group players may get an opportunity to experience playing on the city’s larger diamonds as their skills and abilities continue to develop. A select program is also available at this age group.
